This post has been a long time coming. I’ve wanted to announce for some time, why I’ve not been working on a new collection, and why I’ve been so absent from everything. I’m 5 months pregnant! Graeme and I will be expecting a baby boy this fall! We couldn’t be more excited!
The first trimester was very hard on me and I was in bed for 4 months straight, but now I feel better most days. I plan to continue work on a few pieces by the end of the summer, and a new collection will be finished this winter. For now we are still in the process of building a new studio, taking it easy, and shipping out orders as usual.

It’s been unbelievably rainy in Portland these last few weeks. Contrary to popular belief It’s just not normal, and it’s become the thorn in everyone’s side. I feel like I’ve spent a lot of time coming up with rainy day alternative plans, and I just can’t wait for some sunshine and a little taste of summer.

This week we break ground on our new studio. I mean this literally as construction workers attack our basement with jack hammers. We are beginning a major at home studio renovation. After keeping the studio/shop for a year I have come to the conclusion that It’s just plain luxurious to work from home. Wake up, get a coffee, go to the studio, and begin working, I miss it. So as we begin this new studio construction, we will say goodbye to our little studio/shop and hello to a bigger better brand new studio! I’ll be sure to post photos when we have progress.

Gasp! This jumpsuit is what I want to wear this summer

Or maybe this dress!
Or maybe the whole collection.

We did it! We painted our house black. I know it’s not for everyone and clearly isn’t my neighbor, taste…he..he. But it’s black now, so what can we do besides enjoy it. There are a lot of black and white houses in The Netherlands, in fact there’s the village of Marken where nearly all the houses are black. This my little collection of black houses, clockwise from top left, Marken in The Netherlands, spread the love, and studio meyer.
We even added a haint blue porch roof, because… well, anything to ward off evil spirits. Below is the before and after of our house, now we just need a red roof!

I don’t think I’ve seen anything more adorable then Papier Mache Magazine. It’s an online magazine for children, but certainly enjoyed by adults too! I especially love these photos by Hannah Scott Stevenson, and I’m dying to see more of her work.

this photo by Wai Lin Tse, you might recognize her from her work with Urban Outfitters.
