La Carmaux

wed-dress-2-sepia

Brides have been asking for an after ceremony dress, and this would be perfect. It’s available for special order here, and here. It can be made in any color, I think it would make a nice bridesmaid dress too. What do you think?

rafinesse & tristesse

toy-oven-and-sinks

The little girl inside me wants one of these rafinesse & tristeese stoves/sinks so badly. They are made from recycled olive oil tins. I’m really tempted to order one for myself to play with.

Found at small magazine.

Have you seen this beautiful new magazine from Janine Vangool? Wowzers! It’s pretty. The first issue has all the things I like to read about, artists in their studios, great bands, and square dancers.
Uppercase is “enchanted by great ideas and strange inventions; by colour and pattern; things fancy and frugal; the charm of vintage in a modern life; the ridiculous and the sublime.”
I sooo can’t wait for the next issue!

storefront signage

portland-womens-boutique

Thanks to everyone who chimed in on which storefront signage you liked the best. I took your advice and went with the whole “makool loves you”. I also agreed with most folks that number two was the best. The picture above is how it turned out. I decided to leave the goose for the sandwich board, and decided to make it more makoolish by offsetting it. Scott joked “it’s not very vegetarian friendly”, I might agree.
For now we are open Thursday - Saturday 11-6, so please stop and see us.
We have decided to throw on opening party on Friday, August 7th. More info on that as it develops. I hope you all can make it!

lemonade love

My current crush is lemonade, I kid you not. I’ve had to have it every day since the weather has warmed up. Today I made the mistake of buying Columbia Gorge Lemonade with agave, it was not at all like the real thing, also the fountain one from the Plaid Pantry= alright in a pinch. So far, my favorite is Paul Newman’s Virgin Lemonade. But, what I really want is a lemon aid stand in my neighborhood, someplace where I can get my daily fix from the comfort of my bicycle, hint hint neighborhood kids.

What kind of lemonade do you like?

in the neighborhood

hi folks!
Just a quick hello, to let you know what’s been going on around here. I posted hours on my site. So It would be great if you would stop by and say “hi”.
One of my favorite Portland artists, Amy Ruppel, stopped by the other day and she ended up posting about her visit on Design Sponge. Here’s a photo she took of me and some shoppers.

Today she posted about my awesome neighbor Jordan and his shop Winn Perry, which is also the showroom for Duchess Clothier. Honestly I feel so lucky to be right next door to them. Their space is amazing here are some photos Amy took.

Oh! and did I mention Amy’s studio is in the building too? It’s the Ford building 2505 SE 11th ave, and things are happening here, you should come check it out!
